Village of Shorewood New/Renewal Alcohol License Application

  1. Applications Due April 15

    Please fill out all required forms before submitting. Any incomplete applications be returned. Payment must be received prior to review. Applications not paid within 7 days of submission will be rejected. Payment may be made: 

    • Online via credit card
    • Placing payment in the white drop box behind Village Hall 
    • Postal mail to: Clerk's Office/Village Hall at 3930 N. Murray Avenue, Shorewood, WI 53211. 

    NOTE: if there are any outstanding invoices due or compliance matters with the Village, North Shore Health and Fire Departments, you may not be approved until those invoices are paid in full and compliance obtained.

  4. Fees

    There is a $15.00 publication fee for every applicant and background check fee for each individual applicant. Example: Class B Beer + Class B Liquor + Publication+1 applicant background check = $622.00 Total.

  5. Disclaimer

    The Village would like to collect the payment for your license in full at the time of the application. We understand we cannot make that a condition of your license. It does, however, speed up the process by which you receive your license. If paying by credit card, in person, or via postal mail, payments must be received by the deadline. Applications and payments received after the deadline are subject to a $100 late filing fee.

    State forms are required for some licenses. Below are links to the required State Forms. You must print off the most recent version, fill them out, sign them, and upload them. You do not need to upload individually. A copy of your sellers permit is also required for liquor license applicants.

  23. Acknowledgement

    By submitting this document, you acknowledge the following: I understand I must pay the license fee in full if I wish to have a liquor license assigned to my business. I understand I can have no outstanding bills and compliance matters with the Village of Shorewood, North Shore Health Department and Fire Department. I understand the agent information is subject to a background check, a legal notice for the license is placed in the paper, and the Village Board must approve the license application before the Clerk can send me my license(s). I understand if I hold a reserve license, my license does not come with me if I move my business to another location. I understand I cannot sell my liquor license or other licenses to someone else; a new liquor license application must apply through the Village and I either relinquish my license or when I do not pay for my license the following year, it will revert back to the Village.

    No paper licenses will be mailed out except upon written request. Licenses must be displayed and be visible from the point of sale.
