2021 Annual Employee Service Award and Recognition Event

The River Club at Hubbard Park

Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

The annual Employee Service Awards and Recognition Luncheon is making a comeback for 2021!

2020 was a challenging year for most of us - with COVID-19 and social distancing, social justice issues and civil unrest, changes to our everyday way of operating - many of us felt the stress. In 2021, many of us are feeling more positive and hopeful, which is encouraging. So please join us for a little food, some camaraderie and the opportunity to celebrate our co-workers who have reached milestone years of service in 2021.

Click here to see the invitation for more details on the event. There's a slight change in location and menu choices this year. Please RSVP to Diane no later than Monday, July 12 if you would like to attend. For DPW staff, Kate will be coordinating the RSVP's for your department.

2021 Employee Summer Bocce Tournament

Summer 2021

Update: As of June 25, only six teams have signed up for the tournament. Looking for two more teams!

One thing we continue to hear from employees is the desire for more fun cross-departmental activities to interact with each other. As a result, we are initiating a bocce tournament this summer!

By June 16, find a partner to form a team of two, and send Tyler an email with your team name. He will then publish a bracket and you can begin playing your matches. Matches should take up to 30 minutes at length. Most matches will be over the lunch period; so you can take an additional 15 minutes on top of your 30 minute lunch period for travel, food, break, etc. To accommodate officers who may want to participate but work second or third shift, feel free to set up match times at alternative times.

Your team should coordinate with the other team to set up a time, date and location to play the match. Please pick locations where there is grass and turf to play - no concrete. Bocce ball sets are located in Tyler's office for check out. There is a spreadsheet on the shared drive where you can reserve a set for your match and insert the results of the match. Winner of the tournament will get a lunch paid for and a nice photo op!

Reach out to Tyler with any other questions.
