[ARCHIVED] Village Seeking Election Inspectors for 2024-25 Cycle

To be an election inspector, you must: 

  • Be a qualified elector of Milwaukee County 
  • Reside in your election district for 28 consecutive days 
  • Be able to speak, read and type fluently in English 
  • Have strong clerical skills 
  • Be able to problem solve effectively 
  • Be an effective, unbiased communicator 
  • NOT be a candidate for any office to be voted on at the polling place at that election

Benefits of being an election inspector: 

  • You will be compensated for your time 
  • Wisconsin law requires every employer to grant an unpaid leave of absence to election inspectors, if the employee provides their employer with at least a 7-day notice. The leave is for the entire 24-hour period of Election Day. 

Roles of an election inspector:

Badger Books Data Entry 

  • Help voters check in, register to vote, issue ballots. 


  • Assist with monitoring ballots being fed into the tabulator. 


  • Assist with the election voting line management. 

Central Count Processing 

  • Assist with processing absentee ballots
