The primary goals of the project were to develop a code that led to more predictable redevelopment and business occupancies in line with community expectations, as well as more clear and transparent review processes. The code update was recommended for approval by the Village Plan Commission at their January 24th meeting and will next be considered by the Village Board via public hearing on Monday, February 6th at 7:30 pm. The key new components of the update are the proposed zoning map, building types (pgs. 36-59) and consolidated use table (p. 105). By referencing those elements, one should be able to understand how the code functions. In general, the code update also accomplishes the following:
