This year's theme is "A Lasting Legacy".
It focuses on protecting the life you have built and how being prepared for disasters can create a lasting legacy for you and your family.

Week 1, September 1-4: Make a Plan
During this week, we will be focusing on making an emergency plan. This includes plans on how to respond to disasters, communication plans, plans for pets, seniors, and those with special needs.

Week 2, September 5-1: Build a Kit

Week 3, September 12-18: Youth Preparedness

Week 4 September 19-25: Reduce Your Risk
This week focuses on ways you can reduce your risk, either by getting insurance, or measures you can take to protect your home (and legacy). Some protection items could be having smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, clearing debris from around your home to reduce wildfire risk, and cleaning out gutters to avoid water accumulation on your property.
