Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the November 18 Shorewood Speaks: The Impact of Affordable Housing. For those community members who were unable to attend but have interest viewing a recording of the session, click here.
The event was co-hosted by the Village of Shorewood's Human Relations Commission and the Community Development Authority. This session createed a community forum to talk about the impacts of affordable housing. The first 30-45 minutes consisted of guest speakers who provided an introduction on affordable housing. The speakers were Kori Schneider Peragine (Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council) and Ana Simpson (Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority). After the speakers, there was a 75-minute open forum offering residents a chance to express their thoughts and questions around affordable housing. A huge thank you to Frank Cumberbatch for agreeing to facilitate the forum.
