[ARCHIVED] Village Board continues to support Replace in Kind for Lake Drive

lake drive resurfacing

The Village published a press release today stating its position on the Lake Drive design concepts. The Village Board continues to emphasize its unanimous unwavering support to replace Lake Drive in its current configuration when reconstruction occurs in 2026. I encourage you to take a moment to read the press release so you understand the Village's official position. President McKaig will be presenting this position during the July 6 Village Board meeting.

We are thankful that the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) extended their community feedback survey another month - now through July 31, 2021. If you have yet to do so, please fill out a comment form to provide your input to WisDOT. If you are looking for more information on the 2026 reconstruction project and the design concepts under consideration, please visit WisDOT's project page. While we are disappointed there will no longer be a question and answer session in July with WisDOT, we want to let the public know WisDOT will be attending the August 2, 2021 Village Board meeting to discuss the design further with the Village Board.

We want to thank the number of community members who have been engaged on this matter. This decision to determine the design concept for Lake Drive during the 2026 reconstruction project will have a significant impact on a number of residents. So the Village is thankful for everyone's efforts in this public engagement process with WisDOT.
