[ARCHIVED] Public Feedback for Lake Drive Project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) coordinated virtual public feedback meetings on Tuesday, May 25 to discuss the upcoming 2026 Lake Drive reconstruction project. A number of members of the public were in attendance to provide their feedback on design concepts for Lake Drive.

The design concepts shared show a Replace in Kind option, which is fairly similar to the current design of Lake Drive, along with two alternative options that expands the width of the roadway, decreases street parking, and eliminates trees along the roadway.

WisDOT will have a recording of both meetings on their website along with additional information related to the project. The Village strongly encourages community members to provide a response through a comment form to give your feedback to WisDOT before they make a final decision on the design. WisDOT will be working with the Village to schedule another meeting with the Village Board to discuss the feedback initially received. Since this will be a public meeting, it'll give the public another opportunity to hear the progress of the design and provide input prior to a final decision being made.

If you have questions about the project, contact Christine Hanna, P.E., WisDOT Design Project Manager at Christine.Hanna@dot.wi.gov or call 414.750.1555.
