[ARCHIVED] Village Concludes Three Part Series on Historic Preservation

historic preservation

Summary
The Village completed a three part series showcasing the ways the Village can preserve its architectural history. The Village partnered with the State Historical Society, Shorewood Historical Society, and the Shorewood Public Library to provide this education program. Over 120 people registered for each of the three sessions, which was great to see so many residents interested in learning more about this Village initiative. All sessions were recorded for future reference and posted on the Village website in case you were unable to attend.

Next Steps
The Village will create and publish a survey to go out to all community members asking for feedback on additional historic preservation measures the Village should consider. Measures included in the survey will include the options discussed in the three part virtual series the Village just conducted. The survey will most likely be available starting in June. After staff collects the data, the Village plans to have a discussion with the Village Board some time in the Fall to begin identifying potential implementation steps for architectural historic preservation in the Village. Stay tuned for more updates in the near future!
