Shorewood Comp Plan logo

On Wednesday, March 17 the Village hosted a virtual public meeting to discuss the current draft of the Village’s ongoing Comprehensive Plan Update. This plan looks towards what the Village wishes to be in 2040 and outlines goals, objectives and recommendations to pursue in both the short and long-term within each of eight topical chapters.

As an overarching theme, the Plan Update currently outlines four Strategic Directions:
  • Ensuring Redevelopment Meets Community Goals
  • Promoting Inclusivity, Equity and Diversity
  • Working Towards Affordability
  • Maintaining Services and Updating Infrastructure

If you are interested in learning more about the Plan, a link to the recorded meeting is available on the project’s website. A comment form is also available and will be open for submissions through the end of March. The Plan Update’s next steps include further consideration and possible recommendation by the Plan Commission at their Tuesday, March 23 virtual meeting at 6:30 p.m. A public hearing at the April 19, 2021 Village Board meeting has also been tentatively scheduled.

If you have any questions on the project, contact Bart Griepentrog, Planning & Development Director, or Jackie Mich, project consultant at Vandewalle & Associates.
