[ARCHIVED] Village Board Extends Ordinance Requiring Face Coverings

Mask Up Shorewood

On January 25, the Village Board extended the local ordinance requiring face coverings. Back on July 8, 2020, the Village Board passed the initial face covering requirement ordinance, which was given an expiration date of January 20, 2021. The new local face covering requirement ordinance is now in effect until May 17, 2021.

North Shore Health Department Director Ann Christiansen recommended the extension of the ordinance. To view the ordinance passed, feel free to click here and go to page 161.

Governor Evers signed an executive order on January 15, 2021 extended the state mandate an additional 60 days. Even if the state were not to continue the mask mandate, the Village will still have its ordinance in place for community members to follow until May 17, 2021.

If you have questions about the ordinance, please reach out at 414.847.2701 or via email at rewald@villageofshorewood.org..
