[ARCHIVED] Last Day for Atwater Beach Lifeguards is August 16

Atwater Beach

The last day Atwater Lifeguards will be at the beach will be Sunday, August 16.

As a reminder, the Village wants to be responsible in managing the public beach at Atwater so that community members are safe utilizing the public space. The beach continues to have a maximum capacity of 300. During peak hours, Coastline Services will have a staff person working at the gate at the top of the bluff reminding users of the beach rules and capacity limit. Signs will also be posted explaining the rules. We please ask all users to be respectful of the staff working the beach and implementing this measure to protect all community members. In addition, we please ask users to monitor your time at the beach if it is at capacity and perhaps leave sooner than normal so that others can enjoy the beach, too. Lastly, please do your best to wear a face mask when around others in public spaces, especially if you are unable to remain at least six feet apart.

If you have questions, contact Eric Gietzen at coastlineservicesmke@gmail.com. Please be safe the rest of this summer and enjoy Shorewood’s public beach!
