GOVERNOR EVERS ISSUES STATEWIDE ORDER REQUIRING FACE MASKS
Gov. Tony Evers has declared a statewide public health emergency order requiring everyone to wear a face mask while in an indoor space. The order was issued today, goes into effect Saturday and will expire September 28 unless extended. You can read the order here (https://evers.wi.gov/…/COVID19/EO082-PHECOVIDSecondSpike.pdf).
LOCAL ORDINANCE ADOPTED FOR FACE COVERINGS
The Village Board adopted a revised ordinance for wearing a face covering in the Village that includes requirements, exceptions, and penalties. The updated ordinance uses consistent language to the statewide order for enclosed spaces that are outdoors and encourages community members to wear masks outdoors when they are unable to socially distance. Details of the ordinance can be found in the agenda packet starting on page 58. This ordinance will remain in effect after the Governor’s face covering statewide order expires on September 28.
