[ARCHIVED] Need to Absentee Vote?

The Village of Shorewood has already mailed over 3,000 ballots for the August 11, 2020 Partisan Primary Election. Do you need to vote absentee? We encourage residents who are more prone to illness or are in the high risk category to consider voting absentee. Don’t delay, get your absentee ballot today! Photo ID required.


To Absentee Vote:

In person in the Clerk’s Office - Absentee voting for the August 11, 2020 Partisan Primary Election will be held in the Village Center, 3920 N Murray Ave (Lower level of the Library) office during these hours:

  • Tuesday, July 28, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 29, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 30, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, July 31, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Monday, August 3, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 4, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 5, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 6, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, August 7, 2020 – 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Last Day)


Online* – Request an absentee ballot online at MyVote.WI.gov.

By Mail* –Download the Application for Absentee Ballot or send an email to elections@villageofshorewood.org and request an application to be mailed. Complete the application and return to the Clerk’s Office, 3930 N Murray Ave., Shorewood WI 53211. You must include a copy of your Photo ID. Please note, the last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is Thursday, August 6, 2020.

Curbside – For those unable to access the Village Center, curbside appointments can be scheduled by calling the Clerk’s Office at 414.847.2700. Curbside appointments are available at the below dates and times:

  • Tuesday, July 28 and August 4, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 29 and August 5, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 30 and August 6, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*With the exception of military and overseas voters, ballots can no longer be emailed.

Do I Need a Photo ID?

All Wisconsin voters must show an acceptable photo ID before voting. This includes voters at polling places and most absentee voters. The address on your photo ID DOES NOT have to be your current address and the name on your ID DOES NOT need to be an exact match to your name in the poll book (such as an abbreviated name). Visit BringIt.WI.gov for more information!

The following photo IDs are acceptable (as long the ID did not expire before the last Fall General Election (11/05/2019). A selfie is not considered Photo ID.

  • Wisconsin Driver License, even if revoked or suspended; Wisconsin Identification Card issued by the DMV (available for free)
  • Military ID card issued by a U.S. uniformed service
  • U.S. Passport
  • An identification card issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe in Wisconsin (can be used even if expired, regardless of expiration date)
