The Village’s current Comprehensive Plan was adopted on January 18, 2011. Per State Statute 66.1001, municipalities must update their Comprehensive Plan every 10 years. In recognition of that requirement, the Village of Shorewood will be updating its Comprehensive Plan in 2020 with anticipated adoption prior to 2021. Vandewalle & Associates has been contracted to assist this endeavor.
On June 23, the Plan Commission reviewed the proposed project schedule and recommended a Public Participation Plan for the Update, which the Village Board will consider on July 6. The Village currently anticipates holding a public, virtual open house the week of July 20th to provide an overview of the Comprehensive Plan Update and solicit initial feedback relating to issues and opportunities within the Village. This open house will be recorded and uploaded to the Village website for continued viewing and comment.
Current Comprehensive Plan documents may be found within the Planning & Development section of the Village website and will be updated throughout the process. Please stay tuned for more detailed information on opportunities to help shape the future of Shorewood. We look forward to and encourage your participation!
