On Tuesday, June 9, the DPW Forestry department will be removing several hazardous trees adjacent to the Shorewood Nature Preserve entrance and path.
Due to access and slope issues, a private contractor with specialized equipment will be working with the DPW crew to safely remove the trees. Access to the Nature Preserve path will be restricted during the work, which is expected to be finished that same day. After additional work to be completed in 2021, the area will be replanted using native species.
