[ARCHIVED] Steps on objecting to Property Assessment with Board of Review

Accurate Appraisal

The Village of Shorewood will hold its annual Board of Review meeting on Wednesday, May 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Due to the Safe at Home order and other restrictions surrounding gatherings of 10 or more amidst the COVID-19, this meeting will be conducted as a virtual meeting using Zoom.

If you wish to object to your real property assessment, here are the steps you must take, no later than Monday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m., to be in compliance with state law (§70.47(7)(a), Wis. Stats. All documents reference are available on the Village website.

  1. Complete and submit the Village of Shorewood Notice of Intent to File Objection with the Board of Review as soon as possible, but before Friday, May 22.
  2. Complete and submit the Request to Testify by Telephone or Submit a Sworn Written Statement at the Board of Review (BOR) no later than Monday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m.
  3. Complete and submit the Objection to Real Property Assessment form no later than Monday, May 25, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. Please be sure to read the instructions carefully and to fill out the form in its entirety. Please submit documents by email to: or by mail: Village of Shorewood, Attn: Sara Bruckman, Village Clerk, 3930 N Murray Ave., Shorewood WI 53211. Once the Village Clerk receives your fully completed forms, you will receive via email:

  1. Notification of your scheduled meeting time. Each objector will be assigned a time for their objection to be heard.
  2. Instructions on how to join the Board of Review for your scheduled meeting using Zoom video or via phone.
