[ARCHIVED] Atwater Beach Closed

Atwater Beach

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the North Shore Health Department is ordering public beaches to close effective April 3, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. central daylight savings time. Those beaches effected are Atwater, Big Bay/Buckley Park, Klode and Tietjen Beach at Doctor’s Park. The purpose and intent of this order is to achieve the goal of slowing and reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It is issued in the best interest of public health, safety and welfare and to prevent gatherings in a single location.

We remind the residents of the North Shore communities that physical distancing is one of the best ways to reduce the spread for both personal and public health. For that reason, this order will be in effect for the period of time concurrent with any Order of the State of Wisconsin requiring “safer at home” practices.

For further information regarding COVID-19, we ask that you visit the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html or http://www.nshealthdept.org/CommunicableDiseases/COVID19.aspx for up-to-date local information.

For additional information related to this release, please contact Ann Christiansen, Health Director/Health Officer for the North Shore Health Department at 414-371-2981.
