The Village of Shorewood tax bills were mailed out this week. Taxes are due in full by January 31 of each year, unless using the installment plan. If using the installment plan, the first installment is due by January 31, the second installment is due by March 31, and the third installment is due by May 31.
Payment due dates are shown on the tax bill. Payments must be received at Village Hall, 3930 N. Murray Avenue, Shorewood WI by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 or in the white drop box behind Village Hall by Tuesday, December 31, 2019 to be processed in 2019. Payments received by mail, with a December 31, 2019 postmark, will also be processed in 2019.
Property tax bills can be paid in the following methods:
- Credit Card (Online Only – Additional Fee)
- Electronic Check (Online Only – Additional Fee)
- By mail: Village of Shorewood, 3930 N Murray Avenue, Shorewood WI 53211
- By postage-free drop box located in the parking lot behind Village Hall
- In person at Village Hall, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except as noted above)
Escrow checks that have been made out to the property owner AND the Village must be endorsed by ALL parties listed on the check. Any refunds for overpayments will be processed within 30 days. Unless requested (submit request with payment), tax bills that are submitted by mail with the tax payment will not be returned to the tax payer nor will receipts be mailed.
Tax Bill Receipts: Property owners can obtain tax receipts:
- On-line at http://gcs.villageofshorewood.org/search.aspx (you will need to enter either the tax parcel number, property address or owner name)
- By emailing dhall@villageofshorewood.org with the following information: The parcel number or address of the property and the owner’s name. PLEASE use Tax Bill Receipt in the Subject Line. Your request will be processed in 3-5 business days and the tax receipt will be emailed.
- In person at Village Hall, 3930 N. Murray Avenue, Shorewood WI during normal business hours.
