[ARCHIVED] Interested Village Board Candidacy Gathering

Village Hall

Shorewood residents are now able to circulate nomination papers to run for local elected office. Two Village Board of Trustees as well as the Municipal Judge will be on the ballot for the Village in 2020. The deadline for filing nomination papers is Tuesday, January 7, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. If a primary is needed, the Spring primary will take place Tuesday, February 18, 2020. The main Spring election will be Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

In order to help potential candidates learn more about the candidacy filing process, the role of an elected official, and campaign finance requirements, the Village is coordinating a Village Board Candidacy Gathering on Thursday, December 19 at 5:00 p.m. The gathering will take place in the Village Center meeting room. There will be food and refreshments. Current Village Board of Trustees and staff will be in attendance to reflect on the experience and provide you important guidelines to know.

If you want to get started with filing your nomination papers or want to learn more, contact Village Clerk Sara Bruckman at sbruckman@villageofshorewood.org or 414.847.2608.
