[ARCHIVED] Sidewalk Assessment Letters Mailed

sidewalk replacement program

The Village of Shorewood is sending out sidewalk assessment letters to those residents in the 2019 sidewalk replacement program (illustrated in the map). All assessments are based on inspection criteria approved by Village staff and the Village Board. Standard public sidewalks and carriage walks are assessed at full replacement costs while corner public property sidewalks on secondary frontage are assessed at 50% of the cost. Trip hazards which meet the approved criteria will be ground at no cost to the property owner.

Upon completion of construction, the cost of the work will be posted as a special assessment to each 2019 property tax. Work in anticipated to begin in late July. If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at 414.847.2650. You can also review the frequently asked questions document for the program.  For more information on the sidewalk replacement program, click here
