The Village of Shorewood is seeking to fill the position of Equipment Operator / Route Collector.
Under the general direction of the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director, position will operate assigned trucks and other equipment to perform daily collections (refuse, yard waste, special collections, leaf, etc.). This position will also assist in parks and other public works related projects, crack fill streets, patch pot holes, repair utility cuts, repair concrete curb and gutter, and other duties as assigned. The position will be required to respond to emergency situations after hours including snow and ice operations.
Minimum qualifications include a High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and three years of experience in any of the following areas: concrete maintenance, asphalt maintenance, brick paver maintenance, route collections, heavy equipment operation, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Selected candidate must also successfully complete a drug test and physical to show they can perform the physical demands listed in the job description as well as the possession of a commercial driver’s license or the ability to obtain these licenses within 6 months.
