[ARCHIVED] Police Department Enforces Pedestrian Safety

police squad

On May 28, TMJ4 aired a story on Shorewood's Police Department and ways they are enforcing pedestrian safety in the community.

Starting this week and for several weeks in the future, police officers will be presented as undercover pedestrians to assure drivers are yielding to pedestrians when they enter the crosswalk. Those motorists who fail to yield will be cited. Citations for not yielding for a pedestrian start at $98.80 and four points off your license.

Click here to watch the entire story from TMJ4. Thank you to the Police Department for making pedestrian safety a priority and to the motorists who are yielding to pedestrians in the right away.
