[ARCHIVED] Police Department Experiencing Crossing Guard Shortage

Pedestrian Crossing Sign

As it has been communicated in recent manager memos and press releases, the Village's prior crossing guard vendor is no longer able to provide the crossing guard services. Therefore, the Shorewood Police Department has been recently hiring temporary crossing guards for the remaining school year.

Unfortunately, not enough community members have been able to step up and fill in as temporary crossing guards. As a result, some intersections are now at risk of not having a crossing guard.

The Village is making one last push to ask for interested community members to help serve as crossing guards for the remaining weeks of the school year. If you are interested, please email Debbie Noel Govani at dnoelgovani@villageofshorewood.org. A huge thank you to all those who step up to help out our students and community members.
