[ARCHIVED] Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Month

Medallion

The month of May is Pedestrian and Bike Safety Month. Get ready for several fun events encouraging residents and children to walk and bike in Shorewood safely.

The Medallion is Found!

The medallion has been found! Kristy and Ginny Elfe found the medallion in the Library near the print station and librarian reference desk. It was underneath a black panel on the reference desk. For finding the medallion, Kristy and Ginny win a $50 gift certificate to Culver's and Corner Bakery. It was another great hunt. A big thanks to Culver's, Corner Bakery, and all the participants.

Walk n' Roll - Atwater and Lake Bluff Elementary Schools

Students are encouraged to bike and walk to school safely on Wednesday, May 22. This event was delayed two weeks (originally May 8) due to weather. Those that participate in the morning will receive a giveaway and enter a raffle as a way to congratulate them for riding a bike or walking to school safely.

Shorewood Fun Run

On Thursday, May 23 starting at 6:00 p.m., run the village with Performance Running Outfitters and Rachel from the Shorewood Pedestrian and Bike Safety Committee during Shorewood Pedestrian & Bike Safety Month. Head out from the Shorewood PRO (4533 N. Oakland Ave.) on a 3 mile route through the heart of Shorewood's business district and explore our beautiful neighborhood. Following the run, join us for Indulgence ice cream provided by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Committee. All those in attendance will also be entered for a chance to win a gift certificate from a Shorewood business and a pair of Goodr glasses! Please RSVP so we can accommodate everyone.
