[ARCHIVED] The 4th Annual Shorewood Medallion Hunt Begins

The month of May is Pedestrian and Bike Safety Month. Get ready for several fun events encouraging residents and children to walk and bike in Shorewood safely.

The Medallion Hunt is on!

This week we are hosting the 4th annual medallion hunt. A 2" x 2" medallion with the Share the Walk symbol on it will be hidden in the community, and the Village will give daily clues to point participants in the right direction to find it. This year, Culver's and Corner Bakery are sponsoring the hunt by providing a $50 gift certificate to each restaurant to whoever finds the medallion first. Clues will be posted on the Village Facebook page and the Village website. Once you find the medallion, call Assistant Village Manager Tyler Burkart to claim your prize. The goal of the hunt is to get people out in the community as a pedestrian and/or bicyclist. Best of luck to everyone in your search.

Hey, everyone, I’m back again,
Hiding in Shorewood for a fourth year.
I love being the center of attention,
Search in a public spot for me to appear.

It’s been kind of cold and rainy so far,
That means I’m going to head inside.
Wow, there are a lot of people in here,
Hopefully I can sneak away quietly and hide.

It’s day two and I’m still here,
Watching people work and play.
This place has so many things to do,
And it is open all seven days!

Puzzles, a kitchen, and a puppet theater,
So many fun activities to do.
Or hop on the World Wide Web,
Tons of resources just for you.

Day number three, I’m in a cozy place
With computers, movies, and books.
You can also check out some amazing CDs,
It’s near this area where you should look.

Did you know you can pay to print?
A service cheaper than a piece of bacon.
I’m fairly close to this pay for print station,
Better act fast before I’m taken.

Walk n' Roll - Atwater and Lake Bluff Elementary Schools
