The month of May is Pedestrian and Bike Safety Month. Get ready for several fun events encouraging residents and children to walk and bike in Shorewood safely.
The Medallion Hunt is on!
Next week starting Monday, May 13 we'll be hosting the 4th annual medallion hunt. A 2" x 2" medallion with the Share the Walk symbol on it will be hidden in the community, and the Village will give daily clues to point participants in the right direction to find it. This year, Culver's and Corner Bakery are sponsoring the hunt by providing a $50 gift certificate to each restaurant to whoever finds the medallion first. Clues will be posted on the Village Facebook page and the Village website. Once you find the medallion, call Assistant Village Manager Tyler Burkart to claim your prize. The goal of the hunt is to get people out in the community as a pedestrian and/or bicyclist. Best of luck to everyone in your search.
Walk n' Roll - Atwater and Lake Bluff Elementary Schools
Students are encouraged to bike and walk to school safely on Wednesday, May 22. This event was delayed two weeks (originally May 8) due to weather. Those that participate in the morning will receive a giveaway and enter a raffle as a way to congratulate them for riding a bike or walking to school safely.
