On Monday, December 17, the Village Board approved the issuance of a Request for Proposals to undertake a village-wide, comprehensive Transportation and Parking Analysis. This had previously been identified as a top priority for 2019. The scope of the study was confirmed to include a review and recommendations for the following:
- Street classifications and circulation patterns;
- Traffic controls and calming measures;
- Bike, pedestrian and transit accommodations;
- Procedures for the design, approval and implementation of transportation projects;
- Metro Market redevelopment circulation study;
- Daytime and nighttime parking analysis;
- Municipal parking accommodations;
- ADA compliance
- Enforcement capabilities.
Responses to the Request for Proposals are due at the end of January for review and selection by the Village Board in February. As a next step, staff is developing a communications plan to guide the process, and identify the roles and responsibilities of the project team and public engagement.
