The APWA Public Works Project of the Year Award was established to promote excellence in the management, administration, and implementation of public works projects by recognizing the alliance between the managing agency, the consultant/architect/engineer, and the contractor who work together to complete public works projects.
The Village of Shorewood's SEACSI improvements are the culmination of decades of analysis, planning and engineering in response to several notable rain events - particularly July 2010 - which led to widespread sewer system failures and property damage. The Village of Shorewood is proud of this well-deserved recognition and achievements of the project team and our Department of Public Works staff.
This honor comes after initial recognition by the APWA's Wisconsin Chapter for this project in the same category. This honor is shared with Strand Associates, Inc. and Advance Construction and Globe Contractors, Inc. working together to address a monumental area of need within the Village of Shorewood's aging infrastructure.
