This year’s program includes 30 trees which have been selected for removal based on various criteria including size, health, location, localized species diversity and proximity to overhead power lines. Selected trees are marked with a green paint dot, and adjacent households have received additional program information.
The contractor will remove the tree and stump, and then restore the area with grass seed. Later this year, the Shorewood DPW Forestry Department will install a new tree, selected for species diversity and site considerations.
