2024 HIRING FOR POLICE OFFICER

Lateral applicants / certified police officers are encouraged to apply. Lateral applicants receive pay and vacation equivalent to their years of service. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Lateral Applicants are eligible for an expedited lateral entry process.

 

Police Officers provide police services, including but not limited to responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, conducting preventative, and directed patrols, enforcing municipal ordinances and state laws, and performing community engagement activities. Training and professional development are a priority and encouraged, striving to improve constantly as an officer and a person.

 

The Village of Shorewood Police Department is a progressive, community-oriented agency serving approximately 13,400 residents. The Department consists of 25 sworn officers, including a detective, and four civilian employees who are committed to providing the highest quality of police service courteously. Our mission embraces a proactive approach to crime prevention and crime reduction. We value service, honesty, professionalism, and collaboration. Officers are expected to partner with the community to preserve peace, reduce fear, and make Shorewood a safe place to live, work, shop, and play. Our officers protect and serve the community by enforcing the laws and responding to calls for service.
