[ARCHIVED] Oakland Avenue Reconstruction Update

oaklandavenue2026_newsflash

Early work involves removing the existing curb extensions at Jarvis Street, Wood Place, and south of Kensington Boulevard. Drivers should expect some lane shifts in these areas during this work.

Crews are scheduled to shift all traffic on Oakland Avenue to the west side on Thursday, February 5, 2026. After the traffic shift is complete, Kenmore Place, Jarvis Street, Wood Place, Olive Street, Marion Street, Lake Bluff Boulevard and Kensington Boulevard east of Oakland Avenue will be closed until mid-summer. Elmdale Court east of Oakland Avenue will remain open to traffic. Additionally, there will be no street parking on Oakland Avenue.

All work is weather dependent and subject to change. For the latest traffic updates, visit the project website at https://oaklandavereconstruct.com/.
