2021 Oakland Avenue and Residential Street Resurfacing Program

The 2021 Street Resurfacing Program will include pavement improvements to Oakland Avenue south of E. Capitol Drive and provide temporary road improvements to residential areas in advance of the planned SE Area Combined Sewer Improvements (2023-2026). 

Oakland Avenue

Work will include the repair/replacement of areas of deteriorated concrete pavement and the installation of a new asphalt driving surface. Weather permitting, the following schedule is anticipated:

Week of Monday, July 19

Traffic control placement, reconstruction of centerline manholes;

Northbound and southbound traffic in parking lanes.

Week of Monday, July 26

Northbound lanes: reconstruction of manholes, concrete repair;

All traffic in southbound driving and parking lane.

Week of Monday, August 2

Mill and pave northbound lanes;
Shift traffic to northbound lanes when complete;
 Southbound lanes: reconstruction of manholes, concrete repair.

Week of Monday, August 9

Mill and pave southbound lanes; pavement marking of entire roadway.

Residential Street Resurfacing

The following street segments will be resurfaced in 2021:

  • 2700 - 2800 E. Newton Avenue
  • 2700 - 2800 E. Menlo Boulevard 
  • 3500 - 3600 N. Hackett Avenue
  • 3500 N. Summit Avenue

Work on these streets is scheduled to begin the week of August 3rd, weather permitting.
