CHIEF'S WELCOME

On behalf of the Shorewood Police Department, I would like to welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope your visit to our site has been informative and your questions have been answered. If not, or if there is anything else we may assist you with, please don’t hesitate to contact us. It would be our privilege to serve you.

I consider it an honor to serve as the Chief of Police for Shorewood Police Department. I am proud to work with such a fine group of men and women dedicated to protecting and serving the community who live, work, and visit the Village of Shorewood. We strive to cultivate community relationships, which promotes the strong bond we have with our residents, businesses, and guests. The Shorewood Police Department acknowledges that our effectiveness depends upon the community’s support, acceptance of our authority, and approval of our actions.  Therefore, we intend to provide quality customer service to the citizens and residents we serve. We believe strongly that working alongside our residents is the best way to keep our community safe.

The Village of Shorewood Police Department is a progressive, community-oriented agency, serving a community of approximately 13,400 residents. The Department consists of 25 sworn officers and 4 civilian employees who are committed to providing the highest quality of police service in a professional and courteous manner. Our mission embraces a pro-active approach to crime prevention and crime reduction. To obtain this the Shorewood Police Department will partner with the community to preserve peace, reduce fear, and make Shorewood a safe place to live, work, shop, and play. The Shorewood Police Department is committed to working with the community to solve problems and achieve positive outcomes.

As your Police Chief, I am committed to building and maintaining a positive relationship by providing the most accountable, transparent, and successful law enforcement agency possible. I intend to be accessible, visible, and accountable to our community. I will empower the officers in our agency to take calculated risks — fostering an environment where officers are encouraged and rewarded for innovation and collaboration, without fear of failure.  In turn, I challenge the community to help us create a Village where our actions, our policies, and our voices are united toward a goal of public safety and community involvement.
