Payment must be received prior to review. Applications not paid within 7 days of submission will be rejected. Due dates for applications vary and may be listed in the municipal code.
Quick View of Alcohol Licenses
- Intoxicated Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage Licenses - For businesses only, good for one year. 2023 renewal forms have been emailed. Cigarette License and Cabaret Licenses are included in this application. Renewals due by May 15.
- Operator (Bartender) License - For individuals only, good for 1 year.
- Temporary Operator’s License – For individuals only, good for 1-14 days.
- Temporary Alcohol Class B Retailers License - Good for beer and wine only (Class "B"/"Class B"). Wine is limited to 2 times per year.

Intoxicating Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage (New, Renewal Alcohol License) – Due May 15

Change of Agent: if you have a change of agent only, see the Department of Revenue's Form Page to fill out the Agent Change form. No other application is needed. Email this change form to tharrell@shorewoodwi.gov .
Temporary Alcohol Class B Retailers License, 1-14 days
May be Granted and Issued only to: (1) Bona fide clubs. (2) State, county, or local fair associations, or agricultural societies. (3) Churches, lodges, or societies that have been in existence for at least 6 months prior to the date of application. (4) Posts of veterans organizations. (5) Chambers of commerce or similar civic or trade organizations organized under ch. 181, Wis. Stats.
Operator (Bartender) Licenses (New, Renewal) - 1 year license
Operators Licenses are commonly called Bartender Licenses. A Bartender License is required for anyone serving and/or selling beer, wine and/or liquor, whether it’s in a restaurant, bar, gas station, or grocery store. Shorewood has a 1-year Operator License.

Temporary Operator’s License, 1–14 days
If you are only going to be serving beer and/or wine for an event, a temporary license is permitted. Wine is limited to 2 per year, beer is unlimited. Establishments with a regular Liquor License are not eligible for this license. Please read all instructions and restrictions associated with the temporary licenses. Payment must be included at the time of submission (see fee schedule below). Note the restrictions at the bottom of the online application to ensure your organization is eligible for a Temporary Alcohol License.

Cabaret License – 1 year
If you are also filling out the Liquor License, the Cabaret License information will be included there. If not, please complete the Cabaret License.
As an alternative to the application for the issuance of annual cabaret licenses, application may be made for a short-term license, issued by the Village Board not to exceed three consecutive days for a fee as provided by the Village Fee Schedule. No more than three such licenses shall be issued annually to any one person, agent or business.

Dry Cleaning License – per machine
Transient Merchant Licenses - annual
This application requires a valid Driver License, a non-refundable fee, proof of device accuracy (if applicable), or proof of food or clothing handling (if applicable). All solicitors and transient merchants are held to Shorewood Section 262.7 code of conduct.
