May 11, 2019, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Shorewood Nature Preserve. Between Menlo and Newton on Lake Drive.
Thirty-seven years ago, an unspoiled piece of lakefront property was officially dedicated to become the Shorewood Nature Preserve. Native wildflowers grew in abundance throughout the area. Then, a strong invasive plant, garlic mustard took hold and spread.
Today, it is invading native wildflowers and threatening the natural diversity of
the Preserve. You can help restore this Shorewood treasure. Join volunteers, Saturday, May 11 for our annual garlic mustard pull, sponsored by the Shorewood Conservation Committee. Also, consider capturing some of this noxious weed for yourself in order to make a delicious pesto! Get a free pesto sample and take home a recipe to make your own.
Long pants and gloves are recommended. Bags for pulled garlic mustard will be
provided. See you at the entrance to the Shorewood Nature Preserve!
