Help Shorewood Community by Participating in Build a Monarch Habitat Program.
On Wednesday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. please join us for the event - Build a Monarch Habitat. The event will be in the Village Center lower level conference meeting room.
This is an intergenerational workshop with Lake Bluff 6th grade students to build a habitat to raise Monarch caterpillars. Although only 5% of Monarch eggs actually become a butterfly, many residents are raising them in protected environments and then enjoying releasing the butterfly.
This program is free. Registration is appreciated. Please contact Senior Resource Center Coordinator Elizabeth Price at 414.847.2727 if interested.

Connecting Shorewood's Food, History, Public Art, Neighborhoods and Businesses. Jane Jacobs was an urbanist and activist whose writings championed a community-based approach to city building. Her 1961 treatise, The Death & Life of Great American Cities, introduced ground-breaking ideas about how cities function, evolve, and fail that have become commonsense. Shorewood's Business Improvement District and WIS Congress for New Urbanism are hosting a Jane's Walk on Wednesday, May 23. Jane's Walks are free neighborhood walking tours that celebrate and investigate the people and places that make a city great.
Space is limited to 25 and it's free. The walk starts at Three Lion's Pub at 6:30 p.m. and ends at Milwaukee Brat House at 7:30 p.m. - rain or shine. Register by emailing email@example.com.
