The Village received the recognition of the Silver Level as a Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists back in 2015. This was an extraordinary honor as only one other Wisconsin community (Madison) received a higher rating.
The Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Committee is proposing to add bike lanes on the north end of Oakland Avenue (from Capitol Dr. to Kensington Blvd.) for this year. The current proposal would not take away any parking spots on Oakland Avenue.
Before the Village Board considers this proposal, the Village along with the Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Committee will be conducting a public meeting to allow residents and businesses an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and ask questions. The meeting will take place Thursday, April 27 at 6 p.m. in the Village Center's lower level.
Please contact Assistant Village Manager Tyler Burkart at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 414.847.2705 if you have questions prior to the meeting.
