Register for Village's Organics Collection Pilot Program

Compost Crusader

Interested in lowering your household's waste footprint? Want to help put Shorewood on the path to waste reduction?

The Village of Shorewood is recruiting 100 households (in 1-, 2-, and 3-family dwellings) to participate in an exciting new organics collection pilot similar to the one already underway in Milwaukee. The pilot program features curbside cart collection for combined yard waste and kitchen scraps.

Participants will be furnished 32-gallon rolling carts with locking lids at no charge. The monthly subscription fee is $12.75, and will be billed in quarterly installments by the collection vendor. Neighboring households are encouraged to share, but note that only one household will be billed. Enrollment will proceed on a first come, first-served basis, until 100 participants are registered.

To reserve your spot today, complete an online or printable registration form.  Registration forms can be emailed to Assistant Village Manager Tyler Burkart at tburkart@villageofshorewood.org or mailed to Village Hall at 3930 N. Murray Avenue.  If you have any further questions about the program, please visit the Village website or attend a public awareness session hosted by the Conservation Committee on March 21 at 7 p.m. at Three Lions Pub.
