Shorewood's Jane's Walk (Rain or Shine)

Wednesday, May 23, 2018

Connecting Shorewood's Food, History, Public Art, Neighborhoods and Businesses. Jane Jacobs was an urbanist and activist whose writings championed a community-based approach to city building. Her 1961 treatise, The Death & Life of Great American Cities, introduced ground-breaking ideas about how cities function, evolve, and fail that have become commonsense. Shorewood's Business Improvement District and WIS Congress for New Urbanism are hosting a Jane's Walk on Wednesday, May 23. Jane's Walks are free neighborhood walking tours that celebrate and investigate the people and places that make a city great. Space is limited to 25 and it's free. The walk starts at Three Lion's Pub at 6:30 p.m. and ends at Milwaukee Brat House at 7:30 p.m. - rain or shine. Register by emailing khvoigt@sbcglobal.net. If you want to find out more about other Jane's Walks going on throughout May, go to JanesWalkMKE.com.
