Adult Emerald Ash Borer

The Village of Shorewood began its fight against the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in 2009. The battle continues today on two fronts: annual truck injections and the removal and replacement of selected ash trees during major infrastructure improvement projects.

The presence of the pest was confirmed in 2016 in several privately-owned trees in the northeast area of the Village. EAB is 100% fatal to unprotected ash trees and has killed millions of ash across the country. Please read more about our efforts to protect Shorewood's urban forest, including the Ash Tree Replacement Program.

Planning & Design Process

Nearly two years were spent planning for the design of Wilson Drive by a large and dedicated group of volunteers. Please see the Wilson Drive Street Reconstruction Project Planning page to learn more about this extensive process.
