The Village of Shorewood is currently updating its Comprehensive Plan in an effort known as Shorewood 2040. Opportunities for public engagement, review and comment will be available throughout the summer and fall of 2020. A dedicated project website for Shorewood 2040 has been created to centralize all information related to the update.
A comprehensive plan is a tool for citizens and elected officials to guide the future growth of their community. As a long-term plan, it anticipates the future of the village and is the most important implementation tool for increasing the quality of life for everyone in the village.
In Wisconsin, Comprehensive Planning is guided by the requirements stipulated in State Statute 66.1001.
On January 18, 2011, the Shorewood Village Board of Trustees adopted the following Comprehensive Plan. The effort incorporated numerous plans and studies, and comments from the community.
