Overnight Parking Permission
The Village of Shorewood's overnight parking permission online module is now active.  The Village of Shorewood Municipal Code does not allow overnight parking on village streets Monday through Friday mornings from 3:00am-5:00am.  Overnight on-street parking is allowed on Saturday, Sunday, and holiday mornings. However, residents and visitors who need periodic permission to park their vehicle on the street overnight may do so after requesting permission.

Residents who need to park on the street will now be required to use the online parking permission module on this website to request overnight parking.  Residents or visitors will be allowed 20 free permissions each calendar year per license plate. Once a resident or visitor uses their 20 permissions they will no longer be able to request overnight parking permission.  If you believe you need more than 20 permissions you must contact Village Hall Customer Service and apply for one of the many parking permit options.

To request night parking permission you must go online before 1:00am the morning of the requested 3:00am-5:00am period.  Please visit the online overnight parking permission site here or click the request for overnight parking permission link on the left.

Any changes in address, phone number, or auto information must be given to Customer Service immediately. Out of date auto information may result in a parking ticket.

Construction Access Parking

Temporary overnight parking permissions required due to construction access issues may be granted by the Planning and Development Department upon submission and approval of all required permit forms. For information, please contact the Planning and Development Department at 414-847-2640.

Winter Parking & Snow Emergencies

Parking is restricted to one side of the street from December 1 through March 1 on most neighborhood streets to facilitate snow removal. Streets with this regulation are clearly posted "No Parking Dec 1 - March 1".

A snow emergency can be declared in events of heavy snowfall or other inclement weather. During a snow emergency, no vehicle of any type may be parked on a street or alley during the duration of a snow emergency.

Snow emergencies are declared by the Village Manager and are announced on local radio and television stations. Residents may also call the Shorewood Police Department at 414-847-2610 to see if a snow emergency has been declared.
