Nightly Parking Permissions

New night parking regulations will go into effect March 1, changing the fee for overnight street parking permission to $2 per request.   The fee must be paid online with either  a credit or debit card.  Prior notification for overnight parking is not required on Friday nights, Saturday nights or certain holidays.

As before, residents will be limited to 20 requests per year per vehicle license plate.  You must register online before 1 a.m. the morning of the requested 3-5 a.m. period.  Once the online request is submitted and the reservation is purchased, the request cannot be revoked.  Calls to the Shorewood Police Department to arrange overnight parking will be redirected to the Village website.

Once a resident or visitor uses their 20 permissions, you will no longer be able to purchase nightly parking permission.  You will need to contact the Village Hall Customer Service at 414.847.2601 to discuss your option to purchase monthly night parking on one of our village lots.

With the implementation in 2016 of a software system to process parking requests, the Village was able to realize payroll efficiencies due to not needing clerical police employees to cover second and third shifts and at he same time offer the online registration convenience to residents.  As part of the 2018 budget process, minimal fees were included to cover the administrative costs of online transactions.

Construction Access Parking

Temporary overnight parking permissions needed due to construction access issues may be granted by the Planning and Development Department upon submission and approval of all required permit forms. For information, please contact the Planning and Development Department at 414-847-2640.

Winter Parking & Snow Emergencies

Parking is restricted to one side of the street from December 1 through March 1 on most neighborhood streets to facilitate snow removal. Streets with this regulation are clearly posted "No Parking Dec 1 - March 1".

A snow emergency can be declared in events of heavy snowfall or other inclement weather. During a snow emergency, no vehicle of any type may be parked on a street or alley during the duration of a snow emergency.

Snow emergencies are declared by the Village Manager and are announced on local radio and television stations. Residents may also call the Shorewood Police Department at 414.847.2610 to see if a snow emergency has been declared.
